Mr. Tajalli-Ardekani will join the Research Platform Energy (RPE ) group in June 2024 as a Postdoc on innovative energy management solutions for sector-coupled buildings and neighborhoods.

In the period July 2023 to May 2024, he was a visiting researcher from La Sapienza University, Rome, within the Energy Systems Analysis (ESA) group headed by Dr. Hüseyin Kemâl Çakmak, researching building energy flexibility and development of an automated framework for building energy modeling from open-source data for a disaggregated thermal energy analysis of the districts to estimate the district's heating and cooling demands through various operating and boundary conditions.

On May 27th, 2024, he defended his dissertation entitled “Energy Transition Pathways of Urban Districts Towards Sustainable and Fully Electric Operations: A Techno-Economic Optimization Approach” at the University of La Sapienza, Rome. The IAI congratulates Mr. Tajalli-Ardekani on passing his doctoral examination.
