The IAI welcomes Mr. Christian Beck from the Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) as International Excellence Fellow of KIT at the institute. He will be conducting research in the period from May 2024 to July 2024 within the Data-Driven Analysis of Complex Systems (DRACOS) research area, which is lead by TT-Prof. Dr. Benjamin Schäfer.

Mr. Beck is ”Professor of Applied Mathematics and Head of Centre for Complex Systems" and his main research areas are statistical physics and stochastic modeling of complex systems, including mathematical modeling of power grids and other interdisciplinary applications. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the EPS (European Physical Society) and on the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports, Physica A, Entropy, and Frontiers in Complex Systems. This is his first stay at the IAI.
