The “Smart East” real-world laboratory is a success: under the leadership of the FZI Research Center for Information Technology, the suitability of energy transition solutions for everyday use was tested in practice with the participation of KIT and other partners in the now completed research project. “Smart East” focused on digitalization, climate neutrality and energy optimization. “Smart East” is being further developed as part of the EU Horizon research project “WeForming” and networked with partners in eleven European countries that operate further real-world laboratories.
