Miguel Molina-Moreno (University Carlos III of Madrid) and Marcel Schilling (IAI) were awarded the ”Best Paper Award” at the 20th IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI) 2023 in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, as part of their collaborative project. Co-authors of the work are apl. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Reischl and apl. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ralf Mikut.

Their paper ”Automated Style-aware Selection of Annotated Pre-training Databases in Biomedical Imaging” presents a new methodology for comparing datasets to make sense of knowledge from existing annotated datasets for new problems.

Miguel Molina-Moreno was a visiting scientist in the research area Automated Image and Data Analysis (AIDA) under apl. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ralf Mikut. Marcel Schilling is doing his PhD at IAI within the working group Machine Learning for High-Throughput Methods and Mechatronics (ML4HOME) under the supervision of apl. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Reischl in the research area Automation for Laboratories (ATLAS).
