The IAI team KIT-Sch-GE with Katharina Löffler and Tim Scherr has won the Primary Track (segmentation, only qualified methods) and the Secondary Track (tracking) at the 6th IEEE ISBI Cell Tracking Challenge 2021.
In the all-time leaderboard of the Cell Segmentation Benchmark, the team KIT-Sch-GE currently ranks:
• 5 x 1st place,
• 2 x 2nd place,
• 2 x 3rd place.
In the all-time leaderboard of the Cell Tracking Benchmark the team KIT-Sch-GE currently ranks:
• 6 x 1st place,
• 3 x 2nd place,
• 4 x 3rd place.
The segmentation is described in the publication “Cell segmentation and tracking using CNN-based distance predictions and a graph-based matching strategy”, whereas a description of the tracking algorithm is available as preprint “A graph-based cell tracking algorithm with few manually tunable parameters and automated segmentation error correction”.
Katharina Löffler is a member of the Helmholtz Information & Data Science School for Health (HIDSS4Health) graduate school.
Tim Scherr is a member of the BioInterfaces International Graduate School (BIF-IGS) and is funded by the Helmholtz program Natural, Artificial and Cognitive Information Processing (NACIP).
