The Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS) awards Ms Martha M. Frysztacki from the Energy System Modelling (ESM) group the “Networking Grant“. It is primarily directed to doctoral students at KIT and offers the opportunity to establish beneficial new international contacts for the doctoral project to expand the personal academic network. The grant includes a subsidy for travel expenses additional to ideological support.

Martha intends to use the funding to visit a research group at the Pennsylvania State University (USA) that studies theoretical methods for spatial data reduction in renewable energy systems. She will integrate them into the existing energy system model and research the effect of the reduction in comparison to the full system.
