The KIT department of Informatics has awarded the lecture "Energy Informatics 1" as best optional lecture on the basis of the teaching evaluation carried out in the academic year 2015/2016. This is also particularly noteworthy because the lecture was newly prepared and held for the first time by Prof. Veit Hagenmeyer supported by Simon Waczowicz.

"Energy Informatics 1" deals with the physical and technical foundations of different forms of energy, and also with energy storage, energy transmisson and energy conversion processes. Furthermore the systemic combination of different local energy systems into an integrated energy system are discussed.
